30 March 2010
Tir Conaill Harps GAC is delighted to announce the dates for the fifth annual women's Celtic sports festival, which will be held over the weekend of 1st to 3rd October 2010. The festival has raised the profile of women's gaelic sports both within the Harps club and the wider Glasgow community. The festival will include it's usual programme of camogie and ladies football tournaments, coaching workshops and not forgetting the very popular Festival Hooley.
In spite of the recession, in 2009 we welcomed six clubs from Ireland and Scotland, fielding 8 teams. We hope to attract more teams in 2010. In cost sensitive times we encourage all teams to book early and take advatage of low fares, room rates and the current Euro exchange rate. Further details are available from Grace McBride (camogiestars@hotmail.com).
Regular updates will also appear here.

| Harps v Gaels |
|
28 May 2009
The official score line from Wednesday night is a walkover to TCH. Unfortunately the Gaels were only able to field 8 players, but we have all been there.
On the other hand the Harps had there best show of players ever with 17 turning up on the night. This allowed us to put 4 players on the Gaels side and have a good 12 aside friendly.
Final score was Harps 5-14 to Gaels/Harps 3-6. Goal scoring honours went to Roisin-Ann McCardle (1), Adele Clark (2) and Jordan Canning (2), with Orla Keane and Jessica Doherty adding to the points total.
The women's team are shaping up really well and are looking forward to their next game against Edinburgh's Dunedin. Date, time and venue will appear on the website diary and team pages when confirmed.

Glasgow Gaels gave the harps women's team a great game on Thursday night at Paisley University. TCH took the points with 5-7 to the Gaels 2-10 score line.
Goal honours go to Adele Clark(2), Orla Keane(2) and Orla Purcell(1) with Patricia McArdle adding to the points total.
TCH were made up of a mix of about half and half experienced players and new players from the Saturday morning sessions in Queens Park Rec. The first half was very close, with TCH getting used to the new line up, but the lassies came into their own in the second half scoring 3 goals and 5 points playing against the wind and slope.
The defensive line did a great job with a flawless performance from the goalie (well maybe 2 flaws but who is counting).
If any one wants to get involved with the team, training will be on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Glasgow Green, across from swing park near the Saltmarket entrance. The 9.30 a.m. Saturday morning sessions will also continue at the same training venue.

| First Game for the Ladies Footballers |
|
09 April 2009
Injury, illness and other commitments meant a number of the more experienced players couldn't make the first match of the season against Dunedin. This gave the young girls who have been training in Queens Park over the last couple of months their first experience of a competitive game.
Dunedin won the match quite comfortably however the team played their hearts out to the end. Jordan Cannon scored a fantastic goal from a solo run of 25 meters, our first goal of the season. Laura Donaghy did an excellent job as she played her first game in the pressurised position of goal. It was great to see her, Siobhan McArdle, Jessica Doherty, Patricia McCardle and Jade Friel put into practice the skills they have been learning on a Saturday morning.
The second half saw further injuries for the team as Fidelma left with a dislocated finger and Sarah picked up a knee injury. So a tough start to the season, but an encouraging one.
