South team finally pick up 2009 league cup

12 April 2010

Celebration time finally arrived on Sunday.  Although I think we need to work on that a bit .

Pathetic jump Vanessa, but well done Julie!  Kirstie, you seem to have a whole Morcambe and Wise thing going on there.

Why is Oonagh singing Mammy?  A bit different from the traditional We Are The Champions.

Shiv gives cup win the big thumbs up.  Now that is more like it!

2010 Team Captains:

Please salute your captains for 2010:

  • TCH captain: Yvonne Connaughton
  • TCH vice captain: Fiona Matthie
  • TCH South captain: Oonagh Collins
  • TCH South vice captain: Mary Dowds

One Goes Mad with a Camera - GMA Away May 2010

This will be Hilda practising with the zoom lense.

Sarah is still smiling.  Is that gritted teeth?

What was Roisin's excuse for not running about in the sun for two hours.  Sore knee, aye that was it.

Janice can't contain her enthusiasm for playing two games in a row. Oh how we love these double header fixtures.

Where as Bamm Bamm can barely hide her disappointment.

At least George is keyed up and ready to go.

You looking at me.  Well maybe there was a bit of fight left in us after all.

Let the game begin.

Some good marking going on.

Shoulder to shoulder????

A perfect shy under a perfect sky.

Shiv's stick is on the same park as this attempted clique.

Oonagh's ball.

...and again.

Meanwhile Roisin is thinking of playing the field herself, but Jack is having none of it.

Warming up a bit now.

Snared.

And off into the sunset they go.  Not sure if sympathies should go to Jamie or Jack.

Shinty Player Suffers Terrible Injury

24 March 2010

The injury sustained by Harps player Shiv Martin has left team mates calling for the introduction of better protection.  Players feel it unacceptable that they are exposed to such dangers and are calling for Protective Thimbles to be made mandatory by the sports governing body.  At the time of publication of this article Shiv's piano playing career still hangs in the balance.

Please support our campaign and VOTE:

  • YES, Protective Thimbles must be introduced urgently.
  • NO, your player is just making a meal of it.

2009 TEAM PHOTO
National Team: Pictured with new team mascot Orla (or is it Niamh).  Barely born at the start of the season, she is already under pressure to make herself available for the cup final.  Just need shirt measurements from her mum.

2009 Team captains:

2008 Honours
Shinty & Camogie Player of the Year Awards went to Hilda & Bamm Bamm.  Don't ask why they are sharing the same trophy in the picture.  They have got one each now.  Just as well, as things got a bit ugly when we told Hilda that Bamm Bamm got to take this one home.

Most Improved Camogie Player Award went to Alison Barclay (again don't look to closely at the award presented, your real trophy is on it's way - honest Alison).

Most Improved Shinty Player Award went to Emma Rodgers (pictured holding her real trophy)

2008 Highlights and Lowlights

What we want to see more of:

Goal Scoring Moments - Spot the ball!

Big Shiney Cups!

Smiles all round:

What we want to see less of:

Scarey moments in front of our goal!

Scottish roads - A little bit more local oposition would be welcome.

Grace's gossip!
