At the inaugral meeting of the club's youth committee the young people decided upon the name coiste na nOg.  The group will cater for young people in the club from 12 to 18 years of age. The initial aims are as follows:

  • To build a partnership between other youth  and GAA clubs in Ireland.
  • To successfully put over young peoples views to the Management Committee.
  • To build partnerships with other youth clubs in the city.
  • To learn how the club works.
  • To have representation on the Management Committee

If you are a player or are part of a family involved in the club and would like more information about the youth committee please contact Club Development and Health Promotion Officer.

Youth Committee

The backbone and future of any sports club is it's youth.  Ypung people have always been central to the development of our club.  Indeed to work on their behalf is the main reason the club exists.  Coiste na nOg has been set up to ensure that toung people have a real role in the club and in 2008 two of the group have been part of the club Management Comittee.

In 2007 the Coiste na nOg hosted members of the Kingdom Youth club and visted Belfast and Kilkeel as part of an anti-sectarianism intitiative organised in conjunction with community groups in Kilkeel.  The visit included a tour of Belfast wall murals, the Stormont parliament building and workshops with local Kilkeel young people.
