Bag packing Well done to the U12s hurlers who raised £1000 at the weekend while bag packing in Tesco, Shettleson. Thanks to all the parents, gran, coaches, Janice and Fidelma who helped make it a sucess. There is a selection of pictures on the u12s page. Posted by Grace on 30 June 2010 Happy to oblige, although I much preferred my other fundraising activity of the weekend. We may not have raised as much as the bag packers with our £450 but I am happy to eat cream cakes for the harps any time. Posted by Janice on 30 June 2010 Shinty v Aberdour We scored TWO goals - Kirstie MACLEOD and Sara Cowan Posted by Oonagh on 26 June 2010 very big thanks to Just want to give a very very big thanks to Grace, kirsty Aoífe for the best trip ever we had a really good laugh with minibus doors and missing ferries thanks to women drivers (lol no offence Grace) falling off busses and we still had a good weekend my fav thing was all the surprises so thanks again declan courtney & ian Posted by declan samson on 27 May 2010 Camogie London Calling from Tara Camogie London and if anyone is coming to London to work or study or just for the summer and wants to continue playing, do get in touch. Posted by siobhan mcnamara on 23 May 2010 donegal trip I'm so chuffed to have been part of the Donegal trip away with the camógie team, they sure done us proud! well done to Kirsty for breaking the bus, and cheers Grace for your heavy bag, no doubt my fall will be remembered! Posted by aoífe on 05 May 2010 Donegal weekend Well done to the Camogie/hurlers who were in Donegal at the weekend for an action packed weekend. I know there was many memorable events/incidents. Check out the u12s camogie/hurling page to see some pictures of the various activities. Thanks to Letterkenny Gaels, Maurice and his family for helping with activities,Harps Community project and Paddy Doherty-the man Kirsty was offering to take back to Glasgow with us!!.... Posted by Grace on 05 May 2010 the trip was the greatest trip there could be. when we were there we went horse riding and went to a farm. the two best things that happened were kirsty pulling the door off the minbus and aoife falling out of the minbus. so funny Posted by Shannon Farren on 05 May 2010 May I add I wasnt the only one involved in the door incident!!! Posted by kirsty on 06 May 2010 Kirsty and Grace. Mini bus. There is a connection there, but I can't quite put my finger on. Posted by Harps Watcher on 07 May 2010 Can I just point out I was in the driver's seat when the incident happened so obviously nothing to do with me!! Anyway I blame the Chairman for hiring us a dodgy minibus!!! Posted by Grace on 07 May 2010 Care in the Community As a long standing member of the club and somone who stayed up most of the night after the dinner on Saturday I enjoyed the craic with those in my company. The subject came round to the amount of loonies in the club past and present. I'm not talking about the Heffo's and Taz type people. I mean those who have had held positions of responsibility and passed themselves off as normal. Ironically, this includes two of the award winners on the night, Scotch Joe and less than graceful Grace. Two absolute fruit cakes if you ask me. In addiiton you have Willie who is wired to the moon and Mick "concrete" Coyle who once passed himself of as club chairman. Who else can forget Anton with his phsychotic tendencies. I could go on for ever. I was wondering if we would qualify for some kind of government community care grant in view of all the good work we are doing trying to rehabilitate these unfortunate souls. Any other names out there I have missed? I could throw in Eddie Gallagher and his son nicknamed Madness for some strange reason, but I don't want to go too far into the past. On the subject of the dinner fair dues to everyone for supporting another great night. The highlight for me was the look on Scotch Joe's face when a drunk Donegal contractor guessed his age at 56. Posted by Harps Watcher on 28 April 2010 John Porter As an old friend of John who spent many years in his company both here and in laugh-a-minute trips to Ireland and elsewhere, could I just say how delighted I was to find that he is remembered and honoured by the club he helped to found. His good humour and good heart will always be present in our thoughts as long as the club, and the award for voluntary activities, continues. Posted by T. McBride on 22 April 2010 Admiral Gig Wakes, Amadhans and Anarkali are playing a fundraising night in the Admiral for the Club on Thursday 29 April -tickets £8. Doors open 7 p.m. Tickets are available from oure Club Treasurer, Janice Aitken. Contact info@tirconaill.org Online ticketing also available. Email Janice for more info. Posted by Club on 21 April 2010 Tickets are no longer available from the club but can be purchased on the door. Posted by Club on 28 April 2010 Well done to everyone involved in this event. A grand total of £910 was raised for the Minibus Appeal. Posted by Club on 03 May 2010 club secretary Is it true that the club sceretary is stranded in some far of land due to a volcanoe erupting? I think this is just some kind of smokescreen . Boom Boom! Posted by Harps Watcher on 19 April 2010 st.patrick well done to everyone who helped over the weekend. The appeal has certaainly got off to a great start. Very proud Harps member signing off for now. Posted by tommy on 14 March 2010 Thanks for the great weekend Just on a personal note i would like to thank you all for a great weekend. Well done to the boys on a great game. Hope to see you in Sarsfields in May. Posted by stephen hughes on 28 February 2010 Happy Days Bored, stuff it, then do as i do and head for Roscommon for a free holiday. Posted by harp in exile on 23 February 2010 Oisin GAA Manchester Hi, Looking foward to our trip to Glasgow to play you on Sunday 13th September 09. We will be taking an U10's & U12's team with us to play you on the Sunday morning. We are lucky to take in the Celtic v Dundee Utd game on the Saturday as well. See you all that weekend. Thanks Kevin Posted by Kevin McCormack on 02 August 2009 Bag packing Well done to the U12s camogie/hurlers who did bag packing yesterday. They were very well mannered to the customers and am sure we will be allowed back to do bag packing in the store in the future-see u12s team page for some pictures. Thanks to Oonagh and Janice for their their invaluable help to the children with the bag packing. Posted by Grace on 02 August 2009 Cul Camp I would just like to thank Tir Conaill Harps for a great Cul Camp at the weekend at Glenconner Park. 53 children attended the Camp over the 2 days. Would like to thank coaches, Joe, Willie, Jessica, Adel, Niamh, Brendan and Fidelma Also to Tommy and Maurice for keeping me right! Posted by CIaran on 16 June 2009 Feile Birmingham is there any pictures from Birmingham feile Posted by Thomas friel on 09 June 2009 Fi is keeping them all to herself Posted by Paul Bearer on 10 June 2009 Plans are afoot to extract photos from Fi and get them up on website where they belong. Posted by Ms D.V.S. Plotter on 10 June 2009 Camogie Cakes The camogs are a bunch of tumchies. What a message to send out to our young members. If you want to be fit and good at sport then eat loads of cakes and goodies. What about the healthy lifestyles ideals. Did you have permission from Winkie to run this shocking event? What next a chain smoking competition? Posted by paul bearer on 08 June 2009 Listen, our cunning plan to make it more difficult to get round us on Sunday worked a treat. Just try knocking over any of our lassies. Mon the Harps, keep those buns coming. Posted by D.V.S. Plotter on 08 June 2009 U12S hurling Rumour has it that Kirsty was jealous of Grace getting a shot in a wheelchair so has managed to get herself some crutches. Some might say it is a bit drastic to miss u12s training!! Posted by Informer on 20 May 2009 Is Millport where they filmed Lost ? Grace could have played the part of the French women who was on the island when the plane crashed. Kirsty could play wee Jimmy Kranky! Hold on, she wisnae in Lost. Well I suppose the Millport version could include her. Posted by paul bearer on 20 May 2009 Millport There are still some places on our trip to Millport this Saturday 16th May. If you want to come along cost is £15 adults, £10 children. Cycling optional-picnic lunch provided. Further details available from camogiestars@hotmail.com Posted by U12S on 13 May 2009 is someone going to push Grace round the island on a wheelchair? Posted by paul bearer on 14 May 2009 Am hoping to be on the back of her tandem with Grace doing the pedalling. Posted by Janice on 15 May 2009 We would like to thank Janice and Ciaran for coming along to Millport to help with our trip. Thanks to Janice for driving minibus and helping with the cycling and to Ciaran for by hiring a tandem so all the children could get involved. It was a good day out for all-full report and pics in next few days. Posted by Grace on 17 May 2009 who pushed the wheelchair? Or was it attached to the tandem? Posted by paul bearer on 18 May 2009 I notice that Grace has been a bit vague on her own mode of transport round the island. Suffice to say that there was not a lot of pedalling going on. Posted by Janice on 18 May 2009 St. Benedicts Harps Thanks to all who made our under 12's so welcome last weekend. Although I wasn't there myself, I'm told everything went very well. Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to seeing you in Leeds soon. Posted by Willy Mullan on 05 May 2009 support thanks to everyone that came out and supported the team last night,we very much appreicated it. just glad we won and hopefully we can give you all more reasons to cheer this year. Posted by anton on 01 May 2009 Id like to second what Anton said, the support really helped us a lot. Im glad the young harps got to see a decent game played in good spirits. Heres to a few more days out in August and September..... Posted by Paul D on 01 May 2009 Seniors I hear the senior davitt shield final is being held in Coatbridge on Sunday. Have the club and county board any procedures in place to make sure any players/supporters are safe from the Swine Flu thats incubating in nearby Monklands hospital??? Posted by Concerned Member on 28 April 2009 is the game not on thursday? Posted by paul bearer on 29 April 2009 Just to confirm, the Davitt Shield final is on Thursday at 7.30pm in Coatbridge. The seniors would really appreciate all the support we can get so if you are not busy at that time please pop out an support us. Posted by Adrian Diver on 29 April 2009 good luck Posted by aidan main on 30 April 2009 Good luck to the Seniors 2nyt! Posted by Fidelma on 30 April 2009 Well done to the seniors on last night's victory!! Posted by Grace on 01 May 2009 Old camogs I liked the story on Sheep's Eye about the Old Camogs. However Grace is not going to be happy at the suggestion that she is nearly as old as Hilda!! Posted by Roisin on 16 April 2009 I never thought fo a minute Hilda was anywhere near as old as Grace. There you go now. Posted by Paul Bearer on 17 April 2009 Roisin I am just glad to know that I am able to play Camogie even older than the infamous 'Ettie' who played in goals in her 70's!!! Posted by Grace on 17 April 2009 Culchie Questionaire on Sheeps Eye I scored 36% so I am definately a townie and not a culchie. Having looked at the questions closely I can safely say that no one will come close to Mick "concrete" Coyle. Posted by Daniel O'Donnell on 24 March 2009 secretary sunk In respect to the Club Secretary, obtaining special privlages, that the club will find difficulty in financing i.e chaufeur driven by the legendry Concrete Mick. Realising when you cross-examine the photograph closely, the Bonnie and Clyde Duo should have opted for a faster get-away from the Grab and Go outlet. However with this in mind, according to public speculation, the couple were infact auditioning for a part in a new sit-com called Eire Bheag, Irelands answer to Little Britain.David Walliams and Matt Lucas have been instructed to up their game by TV mogul. Tommy ( Water-tight ) Main Posted by Winkey on 09 March 2009 Grace's Shoe Can someone forward me Grace's e-mail address or phone number. When we were making shapes doing the Haymakers Jig on the saturday night after the conference her shoe came flying off. I need to return it to her. God knows how she got home that night. Posted by Trevor Ivan McFettridge on 09 March 2009 Recession Day Blues for Donegal Hi folks, I know the Donegal people are still relying on smoke signals and the weekly bus from Dungloe to gather information from home, but I thought you would like to know that DUBLIN beat DONEGAL yesterday in the national league. Posted by Harp in exile on 09 March 2009 TOMMYS BEAUTY TREATMENT Hello... as you are probably aware Grace Tommy and myself took a crowd of u12 hurlers/camogs to limerick last weekend... one of our little camogs was horrfied with Mr Mains eyebrows and kindly commented "no offence Tommy but your eyebrows are a mess"..... which led to the idea of Tommy having a sponsrd eyebrow wax. If you would like more information regarding this or even interested donating or being the lucky person getting to pull the wax strip let either myself of Grace know...Tommy has vowed not to trim his eyebrows again untill this event so if anyone wants their own back on Tommy for anything now is their chance hahaha Charlie you are a genius!!! Posted by kirsty on 04 March 2009 I don't know about this, as it will mean him having to spend some money in keeping them that way. He is as tight as a .............. when it comes to money so don't see him allowing anyone to do it, he is also a big kid when pain is involved. Posted by A Main on 09 March 2009 There is a treatment that jumps to mind for those that dont like parting with finances when it comes to waxing it called super-glue, Tommy you should seriously consider the benefits of this type of treatment as one thing is for sure there will be no need for a return trip to the Beautician for any repeat treatments. Posted by Winkey on 09 March 2009 I have to pull out of this planned fund-raiser as my wife is not letting me do it. Posted by tommy on 10 March 2009 No chance.... dont believe you..... you wife will thank us, they things are taking over your head! Posted by shocked on 11 March 2009 you are the man that is telling people to come up with fundraising ideas, so no point in trying to use marie to get out of this one, and anyway, tommy think on the mney you will save on trims, and you will get two new pillows out of it, they wont be feather pillows they will be eyebrow pillows,i will start this off at offering £20 per eyebrow, and i nominate concrete coyle to do the job, il give another £20 for that, now hurry up folk and get your offers of money in, thanks, constable eyebrow. Posted by tommy on 23 December 2008 Does anyone know if Trevor McFettridge is going? Posted by SOS on 20 January 2009 Heard Trevor said was only going if he could definitely catch up with Tommy again!!! Posted by Informer on 20 January 2009 It will be interesting to see how Grace behaves with so many witnesses around. The bold Trevor fella may have some explaining to do when he turns up with a Tir Conaill t-shirt on him. Posted by SOS on 23 January 2009 o'neills madness well, what went down in the back room last night? did miss murdin manage to sneak past her wanted poster at the door? who has been barred for life? there must be some scandal, cough it up. Posted by da quiet one on 14 December 2008 Hello I'm sorry new site looks great and all but seriously guys there has been no real scandal, gossip or stirring since Fiona and I left. Given the history of the club this just seems plain wrong. I know that certain members of the ladies teams will be propping up the bar at Jinteys et all in their low cut tops. Its just that they are keeping it schtum (esp McBride) Guess I'm going to have to attend the ball in April just to blow the whole thing wide open. PS: Chevy's- McBride Murraymint may be excited but u know I dont have a good trackrecord of attending them playing anywhere! Posted by Christine on 12 December 2008 Christine Since you left there doesn't seem to be any scandal. Maybe it's just a coincedence or perhaps you were the one causing it. The rest of the team leading a quiet life since you left. Glad to hear you are coming to dinner dance-know how far you travelled the last time to see the Chevvy's!!! Posted by Grace on 14 December 2008 AGM I see the notice is posted for the AGM. Now is the time for change. I propose Jim Roarty as Chairman and John Lennon as secretary. And we should get Patricia, that mental woman from Tyrone, to go to the county board meetings. Posted by SOS on 10 December 2008 Mr Thomas Main As lawyer to Mr Thomas Main, his heirs and beneficiaries, I would like to point out to patrons of this forum that any suggestions herein that said Mr Thomas Main buys anyone a drink will be met with immediate, expensive and long-winded legal action. (That okay, Tommy?) Posted by Corless, Corless & Sweeney on 08 December 2008 Club ceili Well done to the Camogie team on organising a very sucessful Club ceili last night. You will also be glad to know my trousers have dried out now. I hope that arrangemnt we had went ok. I never gave you your change back for the drink. I will give you it when we meet up next month. Posted by Trevor Ivan McFettridge on 17 November 2008 Did any of your delegates come across a GAA book I left near where you were sitting ? Posted by Coaching Officer on 17 November 2008 Tommy hope you are not being a sore loser-not my fault if men are queuing up to buy me a drink!!! Posted by Grace on 17 November 2008 What's all this about pubs and drink. Just what did we send these people over there for? To attend a conference or go on the old Belfast pubs tour? The members should be told. I thought Willie 'Winkey' Doherty didn't drink. Where does he fit in with all this ? Posted by Concerned member on 18 November 2008 and who was buying for tommy, Posted by worried member on 20 November 2008 I only had one or two, which I paid for myself, unlike another delegate with a long standing reputation for dodging the rounds and leaving early. Posted by tommy on 21 November 2008 Tommy I need a counter signature from yourself for the expense of the extra breakfast that was served to Trevor McFetteridge at the Ulster Conference. Just as well we paid for the accomodation in advance or we would have to pay for that as well. Posted by willie on 22 November 2008 Willie, I don't deal with finance. You will have to speak to Sally. I actually though Grace was looking after it. Posted by tommy on 23 November 2008 Can I just clarify that I never met anyone called Trevor-seems to be a friend of Tommy and Willie's -wouldn't like to spread any rumours though......
